Dans un contexte de diminution du nombre de médecins du travail, les visites de suivi des salariés du privé par les services de santé au travail sont devenues moins fréquentes. En 2019, 39 % d’entre eux signalent avoir eu une visite avec un médecin du travail ou un infirmier au cours des 12 derniers mois, contre 70 % en 2005.

La proportion de salariés signalant une visite de suivi au cours des deux dernières années baisse également mais moins fortement, de 87 % en 2005 à 72 % en 2019. La diminution de la fréquence des visites est similaire pour les salariés exposés aux contraintes physiques. Seule
exception, les salariés qui travaillent régulièrement de nuit connaissent un plus faible espacement des visites

Plusieurs réformes du suivi sanitaire des salariés du secteur privé ont cherché à en diversifier les acteurs et à cibler les
visites sur les postes les plus à risques (encadré 1). Ces réformes ont eu pour objectif notamment de limiter l’espacement
des visites pour les salariés les plus exposés, malgré la pénurie de temps médical dans les services de santé au travail. Les enquêtes Conditions de travail (encadré 2) permettent de connaître à la fois la date de la dernière visite avec un service
de santé au travail en 2005, 2013 et 2019, et les expositions des salariés à divers risques professionnels. Sur cette période,
l’évolution du suivi diffère-t-elle selon que les salariés sont ou non fortement exposés aux risques professionnels ?
